JAVA Software Engineer

Our customers use our document and PDF rendition software to perform high volume document transformations. As we automate the conversion of virtually any file type, we are constantly evolving our software to meet the ever-growing demands of our clients. Support for additional file types, making our software easier to use, improving security, high availability and scalability are ongoing projects that require your help.

  • Microservices written in Java, using spring framework, and frontend written in Angular 2+
  • High throughput jobs and inter-service communication using ArtemisMQ
  • Continuous Integration and Deployment into AWS
  • Storing data in PostgreSQL
  • Running as much as possible in Kubernetes
  • Document management
  • Deep dive into document and PDF conversion.
  • Work with large scale distributed systems, understanding their overall architecture.
  • Plan and execute on entire features, collaborating with peers while planning the work, and seeing it through
  • Collaborate with building microservices and work with continuous delivery.
  • Work with agile software development methodologies
  • Write, test, instrument, document, and maintain code
  • Pair and participate in code reviews, to grow and contribute to the growth of others in and around the team
  • Collaborate closely with Product and Design.
  • Participate in on-call rotations for your team and respond to incidents as necessary
  • Work focused on backend applications, and be open to contributing and frontend development.
  • Good communication skills in English
  • As this is a full-time remote position, we expect good communication skills.
  • Proven understanding of object-oriented programming language

It’s definitely a plus if you have an understanding of:

    • Docker/Kubernetes and JAVA
  • Our customers use our document and PDF rendition software to perform high volume document transformations. In case they see a failed rendition, or a document that doesn’t look OK, they contact support. It is our job to find out what is wrong.

    You will need to:

    • Understand the issue
    • Run the same document through our software
    • Troubleshoot
    • Discuss a possible solution with the team
    • Update the ticket system
    • Respond to the customer

Marketing Internship

  • Like almost every company out there, we also have a website. Like every website, we manage it, try to improve it, make it more attractive and also work on the technical side (SEO) so that our potential customers can find us. 
  • This project will focus on working on the website/graphic design/SEO and consist of the following tasks:
  1. Managing our website from a visual point of view
    1. Creating images, banners etc. 
    2. Creating lead magnets 
    3. Help improve the existing visuals 
    4. Help improve the existing videos
  2. Managing our website from a technical point of view
    1. SEO 
      1. On-page SEO optimization
      2. Off-page SEO optimization 
      3. Others (site maps, backlink management etc.)
  3. Managing our website from a content point of view
    1. Creating new pages 
    2. Improving existing pages
    3. Creating lead magnets 
  • If you are aiming to learn more about how a website works, how potential customers can find you on the internet, how you design a website from a UI / UX perspective, this is a great internship for you! 
  • Someone who isn’t afraid of speaking up his/her mind. 
  • Someone who speaks English (all our marketing staff speaks Dutch, but all our marketing efforts are in English)
  • Someone who is willing to deepen their knowledge in SEO, website management, keyword research, graphic design.
